The Jazz Room needed a way to conveniently display its upcoming shows in an attractive manner that was easy to populate and maintain. I implemented a poster style event calendar system that automatically displays upcoming events only with links to an event page for each event. The default calendar plugin was customized as appropriate for aesthetics and to remove or modify default text and fields (e.g. maps) that did not suit the club’s operations. The system was implemented in 2013 and has been in continuous use since. Event tickets can be purchased via a link to a third-party ticket sales system.
This project was undertaken while I was the volunteer webmaster of the Jazz Room.
